Behind the whiteness of the tombstones, their chastity rests. They left their innocent bones there, in the silver city, where destinies are written in stone. Their hopes and love laid out in mounds. The lights are dispersing, out of shame in front of the eyes of the mothers of Srebrenica, that endless light and yearning. In remembrance of their sons and daughters, their husbands and fathers… I dedicate this book to them, humbled until eternity, by their sacrifice…

"I don't forgive, and I will never forgive a single innocent life to those who committed these acts.“

Senada Cvrk-Pargan was born in Zutica, near Srebrenica in 1975. In Srebrenica she completed her elementary and secondary education, and studied at the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo. She earned her Bachelors degree in Science of Business Management from Phoenix University in the United States. She is actively and voluntarily involved in the Bosnian community in North America. She is the founder and president of the Bosniak cultural community Preporod Corp. North America. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Congress of North American Bosniaks, as well as an honorary member of the Board of the American-Bosnian Institute for Research of Genocide (BAGI) and a member of the Board of the Bosnian-American Library in Chicago. The Darkness of Silver Lights is her second book of poetry. Like the first book of poetry, A Sorrow for Silence, this book also was published by BMG (Bosnian Media Group) and Amazon.com. Both books have been translated into English. Senada Cvrk-Pargan was in Srebrenica during the war from 1992 to 1995, which determined her literary creation. Her poetry is full of pain and regret for the loss of a large number of family members. She is married and the mother of two children. She currently lives and works in the United States.
